Recurrent Thrush Investigation Bundle
This care bundle identifies causes of recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (≥4 episodes/year) through targeted diagnostics: consultation to assess triggers (e.g., hygiene, antibiotics), vaginal swab for Candida culture/speciation (detecting resistant strains), immunoglobulin levels (IgE to check allergic response to candida) rule out immune causes, and HbA1C/diabetes screening. Results guide tailored interventions: extended antifungal regimens, probiotics, or management of underlying conditions (diabetes, immune or allergy treatment)
