About the eGynaecologist

At e-Gynaecologist, our mission is to provide eco-friendly accessible, reliable, and personalised gynaecological care. Your health and well-being are our top priorities, and we are here to support you in every step.

To support the initiative of ‘Green Gynaecology’ our platform serves as an intermediary site to facilitate comprehensive treatment plan. Following a remote consultation, if further examination or additional tests or procedures are needed, our gynaecologists will guide you on the next steps and make it easy for you to receive these services at your convenience while supporting the eco-conscious health model.

You may choose to book directly for in-person consultation with our consultants

Remote Appointments:

We offer comprehensive remote telephone or video appointments, designed to provide women with accessible, expert healthcare from the comfort of their own homes. We also run evening out of hours clinics as well to best suit your busy working lives. Our telemedicine solutions aim to eliminate barriers to immediate gynaecological care and ensure that women receive timely advice and treatment tailored to their unique needs.

Key Components:

  • Convenient Access to Specialists – Daily access to virtual/remote consultant clinics during daytime and evening hours.
  • Video or telephone appointments – Real time data protected consultations to discuss symptoms, concerns and devise treatment plans
  • Comprehensive management plans – consultants provide tailored approach on various gynaecological issues, whether there is a need to give prescriptions, order investigations or organise in-person examination, ultrasound scan or clinic procedures.

Face to Face Appointments:

We recognise that while virtual consultation provides valuable and immediate access to gynaecological care, some situations require an in-person consultation with a specialist, and we strive to bridge this gap. We are committed to connect women with the right specialists to ensure they receive high standard expert gynaecological care tailored to their individual health needs. With our dedicated team, streamlined processes, and extensive network, we aim to empower women to take control of their health, ensuring they receive the best possible care every step of the way.

Key Components:

Our specialists arrange any necessary investigations or scans if needed before the face-to-face consultation. By the time you meet with your specialist for in-person consultation, they will already have valuable information at hand – leading to a more effective and focused consultation.

Understanding the multifaceted nature of gynaecology, our platform ensures that women are treated by the right specialist for their specific condition. Whether it be a gynaecological oncologist for cancer concerns, an endocrinologist for hormonal issues, a laparoscopic surgeon for minimally invasive procedures, a urogynaecologist for urinary problems, or a menopause specialist, we guide you to the most appropriate expert.

e-Gynaecologist has established partnerships with a network of trusted specialists in various locations. This enables us to connect you with gynaecologists that are not only suited to your needs but also conveniently located for eco-friendly short distance travelling. Whether you live in an urban centre or a rural area, we strive to facilitate access to high-quality care.

eGynaecologist introduces a digital space of ‘Virtual Ward’ for patients who have undergone gynaecological surgery and may report post operative concerns, need prompt clinical advice or simply need remote monitoring to track their recovery progress. This bridges the gap between hospital discharge and full recovery, empowering patients with convenient, high-quality post-operative care.

eGynaecologist Virtual Ward is a digital space designed to enhance patient access to specialist care to support patients recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring seamless post-operative follow-up and timely intervention. Following admission in Virtual ward by the operating surgeon, it enables patients to

  • Report post-operative concerns (e.g., pain, bleeding, or infection symptoms) directly to their consultant.
  • Receive prompt clinical advice without waiting for in-clinic appointments.
  • Access specialist guidance via secure messaging, video consultations, or photo uploads for visual assessment.

Key Features

  1. 24/7 Symptom Reporting: Patients can log issues at any time, with urgent cases prioritised promoting faster recovery through real-time support
  2. Secure Communication: HIPAA/GDPR-compliant platform for confidential interactions.
  3. Remote Monitoring: Consultants track recovery progress and intervene early if complications arise and minimise hospital readmissions through proactive care thereby reducing unnecessary travel and waiting times.
  4. Personalised Care Plans: Tailored advice on wound care, medication, or activity restrictions, enhancing post-operative oversight and patient engagement
  5. Seamless Escalation: Direct referral to in-person care if physical examination or emergency intervention is needed, which lowers anxiety by providing direct access to specialists

How It Works

  1. Post-discharge, patients receive access to the Virtual Ward via the eGynaecologist patient portal.
  2. They submit symptoms or queries, which are triaged by the clinical team.
  3. Consultants respond within a defined timeframe (e.g., <24 hours for non-urgent cases, <2 hours for urgent).
  4. Follow-up actions may include adjusted treatment, virtual reassurance, or in-person referral.

Emphasizing on preventive gynaecology is not just beneficial but it’s essential to reduce the disease burden. In gynaecology, it saves lives and empowers women to take control of their health besides reducing inequalities due to lack of timely access. eGynaecologist helps you take charge of your reproductive and gynaecological health through preventive care for long-term well-being.

  • Endometriosis, Menopause and PCOS: Delayed diagnosis of endometriosis and lack of adequate support for menopause costs the UK economy £11 billion/year in lost productivity and care. With current average time to diagnose endometriosis as 7.5 years and average 13 million UK women over 50, menopause and osteoporosis management are urgent priorities. Proactive preventive approach is not only cost-effective but also reduces anxiety/depression and long-term implications associated with conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, and menopause.
  • Cervical Screening (Smear Tests) and HPV vaccination:  Approximately 30% of women who do not participate in cervical screening are at risk of developing cervical cancer. Increasing screening uptake and access to HPV vaccination throughout reproductive years can address this gap in cervical care and cancer prevention.
  • STI Screening and Contraception Advice: UK rates of syphilis and gonorrhoea hit record highs in 2022, with young women disproportionately affected. Regular screening (annual or new relationships) and education are critical to curb transmission and complications e.g., infertility. Easy and suitable access to contraception vitalises optimum sexual health practice.
  • Fibroid Monitoring: Uterine fibroids affect up to 70% of White women and 80% of Black women by the age of 50 years and yet the healthcare burden of fibroids is the least informed issue in women health and its impact on menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, fertility and pregnancy are not routinely monitored. Cancerous change in fibroids is rare but carries poor outcome and nonetheless no strategies exist to identify at risk women.
  • Pelvic Floor Health: The pelvis holds critical organs (uterus, bladder, bowel) supported by pelvic floor muscles, however, 1 in 3 UK women suffer pelvic floor issues, yet <15% seek help due to embarrassment. Pelvic floor dysfunction often leads to incontinence, prolapse and hampers the sexual wellbeing.

Patient Awareness: Patient education and awareness are not just tools for individual health but are catalysts for systemic change. By prioritizing accessible, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based education, we empower women to take charge of their gynaecological health, reduce disparities, and build healthier communities. By fostering understanding and dismantling stigma, women can make informed decisions, advocate for their care, and improve health outcomes.

  • Symptom smart: eGynaecologist supports to bridge the knowledge gaps by empowering women through information and education. 1 in 3 UK women do not identify a single symptom of ovarian cancer, which is a major factor in its late diagnosis. Lack of attentiveness to various gynaecological symptoms usually leads to more marked diseases, which otherwise can be treated lot more easily.
  • Stigma and Barriers: Cultural taboos, language barriers, or past trauma deter many women (e.g., South Asian or migrant communities) from seeking care. The comfort of home through tele-gynaecology and communication in spoken language helps negotiate some of these cultural sensitivities, which will be at offer from eGynaecologist.

Digital Solutions: eGynaecologist is a digital gynaecology platform that is available for patients in extended hours with early-morning, evening, or weekend clinics to cater to working professionals and women in rural areas.

Patient Portal:

At e-Gynaecologist, our gynaecology services are run via robust Meddbase patient record with globally certified data protection and security compliance creating a foundation of reliability and trust, empowering you to navigate the digital landscape with confidence.
