Our gynaecologists perform the procedure while using small flexible hysteroscopes proven to significantly reduce pain and discomfort. The direct visualisation allows identification of polyps, fibroids, adhesions, septa, or abnormal endometrial patterns that may indicate benign or cancerous changes.
When a suspicious area is identified, a targeted biopsy (or removal of a small polyp) can be performed there and then, with minimal discomfort using a ‘see and treat’ approach. You receive a real‑time diagnosis of visible abnormalities along with a clear plan for management, follow‑up, or waiting for histology results.

Why you may need Hysteroscopy
- Abnormal uterine bleeding (heavy, irregular, or post‑menopausal)
- Persistent pelvic pain
- Suspected polyps or fibroids
- Recurrent miscarriage or infertility investigation
- Abnormal ultrasound finding (thickened endometrium)
- Retained products of conception
- Uterine anomalies

What will Hysteroscopy show?
- Normal Result:Â The uterine cavity appears smooth, healthy, and free of abnormalities.
- Polyps:Â Benign overgrowths of the endometrial lining that can often be removed at the same visit.
- Fibroids (submucosal):Â Benign muscle tumours protruding into the cavity, which may be suitable for hysteroscopic removal.
- Adhesions (scar tissue): Bands of tissue that may distort the cavity and affect fertility – can often be divided during the procedure.
- Endometrial hyperplasia or cancer:Â Biopsies are taken if the lining looks irregular or thickened.
