Ms. Alina-Maria Unipan is an experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 15 years of dedicated service in men’s health. She specializes in Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology and is based at Barking, Redbridge and Havering University Hospitals. Her clinical approach is recognized for being compassionate, patient-centred, and firmly grounded in evidence-based medicine.
After completing her medical degree (MBBS) in Romania in 2006, Ms. Unipan pursued specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK. In 2019, she was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG). She further advanced her expertise through clinical and research fellowship training at King’s College London, focusing on early pregnancy ultrasound and acute gynaecological care.
Ms. Unipan offers comprehensive management of a wide range of gynaecological conditions, including early pregnancy complications, menstrual disorders, fibroids,endometriosis, menopause, fertility concerns, and vulval conditions. She is skilled in advanced diagnostic and minimally invasive procedures such as transvaginal ultrasound, outpatient hysteroscopy, and laparoscopic surgery.
In addition to her clinical work, she holds senior leadership roles, including Deputy Responsible Officer and Trust Lead for Appraisal and Revalidation at Queen’s Hospital. She has also led digital transformation initiatives in Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology asClinical Informatic Lead, improving patient safety and operational efficiency. A passionate educator, Ms. Unipan is actively involved in teaching and mentoring junior doctors. She is widely appreciated by colleagues and patients alike for her clinical
excellence, empathy, and clear communication.
